“The Spider’s Web”
… If only
we had a way to tell when a predator is seducing one of our children. But, we
don’t. So, tragic things happen to our innocent and vulnerable youth. If only
we knew when these predators are getting inside their minds and manipulating
them. But, we don’t. If we did, then the tragic outcome of my niece’s search
for love and acceptance would never have happened. Her name is Danielle Blair
and “The Spider’s Web ” is the true story of her vulnerabilities,
abduction, captivity, rape(s), physical assaults, and justice.
September 15, 2001
After several months of seduction, Danielle's 58 year old predator, Victor,
came to her small town and took her away. Away from the family that loved
her. Away from her friends. Away from everything she knew at the ripe old age
of thirteen. He took her into a terror filled world like she never imagined.
Shortly after joining with her new love, Danielle’s internal conflict
increased drastically. How could someone that loved her hurt her so much? At
thirteen, she doesn't know anymore. Her dad hurt her. Then Rick hurt her.
Maybe this is what love is supposed to be like. Granny says God loves her.
But when she prays for something, He never seems to hear her. She thought
Rick was an answer to prayers. Wrong. She thought Victor was an answer to her
prayers. Was she wrong, again? Maybe God was answering her prayers and this
is just how love and life is. She knows Victor loves her and he hurts her.
She just wishes it wasn't so painful.
Victor has Danielle where he wants her. He has worked hard to make Danielle
feel she is loved. He spent months doing this. Loving him only increases her
vulnerability and makes it easier to get what he needs from her. Submission.
Total submission. The children before her satisfied him for a short time.
Especially the one last summer. It's so easy to make it seem like the kids
just run a way. If that's what the police want to believe, let 'em. The joke
is on them. It's almost too easy. Fools. The parents and police only make the
game sweeter. But, the real prize is the children. God, he loves children! So
sweet, so innocent, so vulnerable. So...untouched. Open and waiting to learn.
Maybe Danielle will be the one that finally gives him total fulfillment.
Shortly after they are alone, Victor rapes Danielle for the first time. But,
the physical intrusion of Danielle’s body doesn’t give him that elusive goal
of satisfaction. Will he ever find it? He tries very hard. As he puts
Danielle through extreme physical and mental trauma he knows to be careful.
The game of manipulation has to continue. He can't loose his disguise. He
needs Danielle to still love him. If she looses that, she may escape and tell
the police. That he cannot have. He’s played this game long enough to know
how much to hurt his prey before they lose that love he's nurtured. Never
lose control. That's his motto. Whatever it takes... never lose control... MORE
